Siemens newbie rises in Denmark
SWT-3.15-142 prototype installed at Drantum test site in Jutland
Siemens has installed its prototype SWT-3.15-142 turbine at the Drantum wind test site in Jutland in Denmark.
Commissioning is underway and the turbine is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of March, the German company said.
The turbine has a rotor diameter of 142 metres and is the first Siemens model to be equipped with blades based on hybrid-carbon technology.
It can be configured with hub heights of up to 165 metres and 69-metre rotors, Siemens said.
At average wind speeds of six metres per second the machine’s energy yield is expected to be 10 gigawatt hours a year, the company added.
Siemens Wind Power head of technology Morten Pilgaard Rasmussen said the company is confident that the turbine will be ready for serial production by the end of 2017.(來(lái)源:風(fēng)電峰觀察 ,原文來(lái)自:Renews)
